About
Welcome to alvintranslation.com, my dear guest!
I am a full time freelance translator, specializing in IT,
Business/Commerce, Law, and Automotive
translation.
I obtained my BA degree in English literature
and culture from China’s Nankai
University in 2001. Due to my passion for
computer and Internet and my abundant related experiences in Nankai, I
started my translation career by joining VanceInfo
Creative Software Co., Ltd. as a software
localizer.
A lot of projects for IBM enabled me to know localization from
different perspectives, including concepts, standards, processes,
tools, etc.. Besides software localization, I was in charge of IBM
licenses and agreements translation, involving legal issues. As a
result, I spent plenty of time studying law and enhanced my competence
of translating law documents.
Three years later, I moved to the Benchmark Department of Newegg.com.cn,
exposing me more to the field of computer hardware. Then two years’
work in Fuji Xerox (China)
gave me insights into another 2 industries, i.e. printing (for Xerox)
and automobile (for GM, Toyota, Benz).
I obtained a great deal of valuable experience and knowledge.
Taking my career development and my capabilities into consideration, I
decided to be a full time freelance translator, which has been proved
to be a correct decision. Presently, I am a contracted part-time
translator for Mckinsey & Company
and Interfax News Agency,
working for them on a daily basis. I also served a lot of other clients
home and abroad, winning high appreciation (see testimonials from my
clients).
If you need my service, please contact me via the methods mentioned in
the Contact section.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Best regards,
Alvin Liu
